This book was beautiful, sad, funny, and sweet. Cassie Webb has been raising her son alone for nearly six years. After her husband was shot, while on duty as a police officer, he went into a coma, and then "awoke" to a vegetative state". She visits him for date night every Friday, brings him his favorite dinner (which he can't eat), talks to him, and plays his favorite songs, hoping that someday he will wake up and join their family again. Her hope and dedication were so very sweet, and heartbreaking. Cassie is doing everything she can to live for her son, Noah, but it still feels like life is on hold until Devon wakes up. Things change when she meets Matt Kramer and his sons. Matt's wife has died which in the last year, and he and his two boys are barely surviving. Matt and Cassie both start to fill a void in their sons' lives, and in each other's. But Cassie is still married, whether her husband is interactive or not. And there is the drama! We all know where this is going. At some point, Devon will have to pass away, or this wouldn't be a romance novel.The relationship between Cassie and Matt is funny, heartbreaking, and heart mending. I loved the two of them together, and their love for the boys. Things were not easy for either family, yet it made their joy that much more appreciated and complete, when it came. I didn't actually cry while reading this one, I think because I knew what needed to happen. I did laugh, and I did smile.
It was a great addition to the Power of the Matchmaker series.

I stayed up waaayyy too late reading this because I was so captivated by the characters and storyline. Very well-written, clean romance that has such a different set-up that is usually found. I loved this one.
When a book makes you laugh, that's great. When it makes you cry, that's even better. But when you get both, that's magnificent. Between Heaven and Earth does just that. Michele has a Nicholas Sparks-esque way of writing that keeps you turning pages while enjoying an incredible love story.
Another book in the Power of the Matchmaker series. I loved this one. It was well written and couldn't put it down. The characters and situations were so real you couldn't help but get drawn into the story. Carrie and Matt have had really rough experiences so it was natural for them to become friends. Add in their kids and the story just got richer. Loved the book!
I've had this book on my for almost a year now. I had every intention of reading it and always put it on the back burner. Now I am kicking myself for not reading it earlier. This is a beautiful story of love, letting go and moving on. I was instantly hooked by the depth of the characters and couldn't stop the tears throughout. Don't put off reading this beautiful story!
I enjoyed Cassie's story. Her husband was shot and left in a state nothingness. She is devoted to Devan. He was her forever love. One of the blessings that he left her was a baby growing within her. Something they had both wanted but didn't manage till then. Now it is 6 years later but she still hangs on to everything just the way it was. Until she met Matt and his two boys.
Matt lost his wife not too long ago, he in anew town trying to make a new life. He and Cassie meet on a soccor field. She is good with his boys. He is like the father her on had never had.
Read about their struggles, her weekly date nights with a man this is just there nothing more. Find out about Pearl and how she fits into their lives.
Wow, what an impossible situation for these characters. I really liked the premise of the story, not something that you see in a lot of stories.
Cassie is a very devoted and faithful wife and you wonder how she's been able to keep going this long alone with her child.
Matt is still floundering, pretty much not having a clue of what he's doing, but still trying to do what is right for his sons.
They strike an unusual friendship and you can see their relationship growing and developing, along with their personal lives.
I really liked Matt and Cassie and their boys and how they grow into a new family.

This series is absolutely fabulous! Its so different and it makes you think. Cassandra Webb is the perfect wife and mother, she does everything and more for her son and his father. Including spending time with her husband who is in a coma, and has been for six years. Cassandra hasn't given up and will not, no matter who tells her she should. That is until she meets Pearl at the care center where her husband is. Pearl tells her she is the reason Devon is still alive. What would you do, if you were the person holding a loved one here, especially if they wanted to leave this life?
This series doesn't have a series order, but Pearl's story should be read first (I think) - It is Power of the Matchmaker and once you know Pearl, it will make the situations in each story clearer to you. This is an Inspirational read.
